Nordic watchmaker Arcanaut is set to release its latest timepieces, the Arc II — D’Arc Matter Colours Collection, with just 25 pieces of each of the four colour options being made available.
Arc II — D’Arc Matter, designed by James Thompson, co-owner of Arcanaut, is created using slate local to his region of Scandinavia, which he collected near his home before grinding to a fine powder and binding with ultra-clear resin to form composite plates of stone and resin. These are then milled into shape to create the watch face.

The dial is treated with one of the four specially created Super-LumiNova colours — Badger Blue, Gamma Green, Hornet Yellow, and Pongo Orange — developed in partnership with Swiss specialist RC Tritec. The face is then topped with Danish-made stainless steel hands, laser-cut and manually finished, and fitted to the Danish-made hand-finished cases.
The D’Arc Matter Colours Collection is unique to Arcanaut, as the method for making the materials that comprise the face is known only to the company, and the colours created by RC Tritec for the collection are made solely for Arcanaut.
The company’s goal is to fuse the creative use of unusual materials with its individual ascetic and ergonomic Danish case design to create a fusion that watch lovers won’t find anywhere else.

The new Arc II — D’Arc Matter Colours Collection will go on general release at 6pm on 30th September, priced at €3,950 (£3,400/$4,300) before taxes. There will be just 25 of each colour made in 2023 due to the handmade nature of the dials, although others may be released in the future.
The watches will be available from Arcanaut’s official website
and its US retailer, Collective Horology
