Playmobil has released a new set that lets fans recreate the iconic Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole from the classic 80s TV series Magnum, P.I. It’s absolutely for the kids, and definitely not just for Dads…

The surprisingly detailed model will allow you, sorry, your kids, to create crime-solving adventures with Thomas Magnum and his now priceless red Ferrari. Your action-packed missions will be brought to life by being able to push a toy car around the carpet, skidding to a halt in front of Higgins, Rick Wright or T.C.

While Playmobil can provide the Ferrari 308 and the main characters from the classic 80s TV show, it can’t help with the Hawaiian backdrop. Your imagination will have to do the heavy lifting.

Measuring around 25cm in length, the Ferrari 308 GTS offers space for two characters — Magnum, and a companion, of course. The roof is removable for alfresco motoring under a Hawaiian sunset, while the engine cover at the back of the car can be lifted to reveal the 3.0-litre V8 engine. To ensure maximum posing power, the pop-up headlights do indeed pop up.

Whether you’re a longtime fan of the show or a newcomer looking for an exciting playtime experience, the Magnum, P.I. set is the perfect addition to a grown-up collection or a child’s toy box.

The Playmobil Magnum, P.I. Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole set (product no 71343, for collectors) will be available at retailers and online stores in August, with a recommended price of £70.
