Luxury baby brand Stokke has launched an updated version of its popular travel stroller: the YOYO5.

The outgoing YOYO3 was praised for its compact size and ease of use, but Stokke believes the new YOYO5 will surpass it with even more features parents and children will love.

The new model features a wider seat, making the ride more accommodating for growing children. That, coupled with the improved recline angle and action, improved padding and a five-position adjustable leg rest, will keep babies from 6 months to toddlers comfortable, whether they are napping or enjoying the world around them. The YOYO5 can be used from newborn with the fully flat newborn pack.

The perforated backrest and seat base improve airflow and circulation so your little ones stay cool and happy on hot summer days at home or on holiday. The four-position canopy gives varying degrees of shade, and the larger peek-a-boo window allows a clearer view of the occupant, so you can keep an eye on them as they snooze.

Stokke boasts 4-wheel suspension, which it says provides a smooth, effortless ride over various surfaces, making the YOYO5 a great option for everyday use and travel.

Stokke seems most proud of its one-hand fold mechanism. By grasping and twisting the handle in the frame, the stroller can, according to Stokke, be folded and presumably unfolded in a single motion. While this isn’t unique in the stroller market, some brands have done it better than others, and Stokke believes the YOYO5 is among the best; I haven’t had the opportunity to test it, so for now I’ll have to take Stokke’s word for it.

For those travelling with the YOYO5, it folds neatly into a compact form and weighs a respectable 6.2 kg, making it easy to carry on and off public transport. Storage space seems pretty decent, with a good-sized under-seat basket.

All of this space and comfort does come at a price, though. YOYO5 starts from £429External link, which is over £200 more than the newly released Joie Porto travel stroller. Unlike Joie, Stokke doesn’t include a rain cover or bumper bar, which is a shame, given the cost.

The YOYO5 is now available in five colours, with a range of accessories to customise the stroller to your needs.
