Abarth is a name synonymous with motorsport, and compared to other tuning shops, very mainstream and well-known. It works with some of the biggest names in the automotive world and is best known for its long-running affiliation with Fiat — including the recent Fiat 500-based Abarth 595.
In a bid to spread its racing pedigree, Abarth is offering the general public the chance to become a professional racing driver and put your skills to the test in its Make It Your Race competition. Twenty-eight lucky participants will be put through a 10-day racing boot camp to be assessed by internationally acclaimed coaches from the world of motorsport.

The boot camp will be no holiday, we can assure you! At the end of the 10 days of training, all of the wannabe racers will go head to head in a final race at the world-famous Monza circuit. But it won’t just be them; they will also be the odd professional driver thrown into the mix to see just how good these pretenders are.
The whole thing will be televised in a cross between Top Gear and the X Factor. Although we are not huge fans — indeed, we hate reality talent shows — it’s good to see sport and motoring racing getting a little bit of the limelight.
