As kids, most of us wore hand-me-downs at some point or another. As the sustainable fashion movement gathers pace, it means more of us do it as adults, too. Red Wing Shoes is taking that thought to the next level and encouraging us to bequeath our boots to those we love with its new Will Your Wings campaign.
To bring this unique idea to life, the Red Wing Shoe Company has created tiny fabric wills that can be attached to the inside of your boots. These wills let your loved ones know who you want to pass them down to when the time comes.

Red Wing Shoes was founded in the United States in 1905 and has been making high-quality boots for almost 120 years. The range has diversified over the years, with a collection of modern work-wear options offered alongside the more casual lifestyle Heritage collection, modelled on the original styles produced, giving them a wonderfully retro look. The timeless designs and traditional construction help to create boots that will not only last but will add style to any outfit for years to come.
The Heritage Collection is at the forefront of the Will Your Wings campaign, with each new pair having the tiny fabric will attached. To celebrate the new global campaign, Red Wing Shoes is hosting a special in-store event on Saturday 12th October, where owners of Red Wing boots are invited to bring them along and have a will tab sewn in.
Running from 11.30 am until 6.30 pm at the London Carnaby store
, cobblers will be on hand all day to attach a will. If you don’t own a pair of Red Wings boots currently, it could be the perfect opportunity to drop in and take a look and find yourself a great new pair of boots for the impending winter season and beyond.
