With Peaky Blinders set to return for its fifth season later this year, David Beckham’s co-owned fashion label, Kent & Curwen, has just announced a new collection in collaboration with hit BBC TV show called ‘The Garrison Tailers’.
Unveiled at London Fashion Week this weekend, the Autumn/Winter collection includes staple looks inspired by the 1920s-era show and will feature grandad shirts, waist coasts, wool overcoats and of course, the famed flat cap – though we’re fairly certain it won’t come with a blade…
The range comes labelled as by ‘The Garrison Tailors’, named after the Shelby family’s Birmingham pub in Peaky Blinders. On the collection, Beckham said, “I’m a big fan of the show and our brand has always been about the look.” As for his love of the flatcap, the former footballer told The Guardian; “I got that from my grandad. I wore his from a very young age.”
Kent & Curwen designer Daniel Kearns has created the collection, which will include a three-piece tweed suit, a lightweight frock coat, collarless shirts inspired by 20s styles, peg leg trousers and flat caps. Some styles have printed canvas patches featuring the brand’s rose motif with the writing, “Garrison Tailors by Order of the Peaky Blinders.”
Peaky Blinders Season 5 is due to start in September this year, with the Kent & Curwen ‘Garrison Tailors’ collection due to drop around the same time. Find out more over at the Kent & Curwen Website.
