Aldi Announce Foot-Long Pigs in Blankets for Christmas

Is it too early to talk about Christmas? No. For many reasons, Christmas is brilliant; enjoying a few festive drinks is a great way to spend a chilly winter evening, and we’re suckers for the Strictly Christmas Special. But if food isn’t at the top of your list, you’re probably doing it wrong, and there’s an extra reason to get excited for Xmas 2018. That’s because our favourite budget supermarket, Aldi, has announced that it’s releasing foot-long (yes, FOOT-LONG) pigs-in-blankets!

Costing £2.99 for a pack of two, the 12-inch sausages are wrapped in streaky bacon and are said to be ‘perfect for sharing’ — yeah, right! Aldi will also sell a trio of pigs in blankets, which will see a stack of three cocktail sausages cuddled up in a bacon blanket.

It’s not the first time Aldi has excited us over something so menial. During the summer, it unveiled halloumi slices specially designed to fit on top of your burger. It was such a genius idea, we don’t know how it took so long for someone to come up with it. But big pig wrapped in big pig might just be better.

Sure, it’s almost too early to get this hyped about a sausage that won’t be released for another two months yet. But it’s always good to have something to look forward to when the weather turns and summer is officially over, right?

The Aldi XL pigs will be going on sale on 6th December as part of its Christmas range.
