The first trailer for Denzel Washington’s The Equalizer has dropped online and boy does it look tense. Inspired by the 80s TV series namesake, Denzel plays an intelligence officer who goes rogue after a young prostitute, played by Chloe Grace Moretz, is kidnapped by the Russian Mafia.
Melissa Leo and a sinister looking Marton Csokas also star with Olympus Has Fallen director Antoine Fuqua at the helm. Meaning the first reunion of Fuqua and Washington since the pair made Training Day. We’re expecting big things and the trailer doesn’t disappoint. It feels tense and very gritty. We also shouldn’t be surprised with Fuqua’s track record that the action looks top notch. Washington looks chilling as the vigilante and hints of a torture scene indicate he’ll stop at nothing. We’re on board.
The Equalizer opens on 26th September 2014 in the UK.
