Curious young minds will love the newest offering from screen-free gurus, Tonies, as it partners with The Science Museum to build on its Discovery Crew Series.
The set of four Science Museum Pocket Tonies will immerse children into the heart of the Science Museum, propelling them through space and time, as they discover the real science behind the stories.
“Working with the Science Museum has been an exciting and energising partnership. Together, we’ve created a new series of Discovery Crew audio adventures that take children from outer space to the ocean depths and back through history’s most groundbreaking scientific moments,” said Polly Evans, Content Lead UK at Tonies. “Partnering with the Science Museum has enabled us to turn real science into thrilling, rigorously fact-checked audio adventures that spark curiosity, creativity, and confidence, all without screens.”
Each of the stories begins in the Science Museum and follows a group of explorers who are budding astronauts, scientists and engineers. Each Tonie is set in a different gallery of the museum, allowing kids to delve into space, medicine, the information age and the Wonderlab. Through rich soundscapes and imaginative storytelling, the little listeners are whisked through time, space and scientific breakthroughs, exploring topics inspired by the museum’s world-leading collection. From exploring real spacecraft and the hands-on experiments in Wonderlab to the history of medicine and the inventions that shaped how we communicate around the world, science is brought to life in audio-first form – all without a screen in sight.

“This collaboration allows us to share the wonder of our collection in a fresh, imaginative format that sparks curiosity, creativity and a lifelong love of science,” said Amy Harbour, Head of Licensing and Commercial Partnerships, Science Museum Group. “At the Science Museum, inspiring future generations of scientists, engineers and inventors, is at the heart of what we do, and we’re proud to see that mission come alive through these new Pocket Tonies.”
The beauty is that the children are in charge of their journey through the museum. They simply select the sector they want to learn about, pop the Tonie onto the Tonies box, join the Discovery Crew, and embark on an audio journey. Parents can enjoy the journey with them, or listen in wonder as their junior scientists impart their newly acquired knowledge with enthusiasm and wonder.
Priced at £20, the four-piece Tonies set, for ages 5 years and over, is available from 13th February 2026 directly from Tonies, or from both the Science Museum Shop and online from 20th February.
