3D is everywhere right now — at the cinema, on your television, and even making its way into gaming — so it was probably only a matter of time before it found its way online too.
Video platform YouPorn
has introduced a section dedicated to 3D content, featuring clips designed for viewing with the familiar red-and-blue anaglyph glasses. There’s no need for specialist equipment or expensive displays — just a pair of glasses and a willingness to give it a go.
If you’ve still got a set tucked away from Spy Kids 3D or Channel 4’s Week of 3D, you’re already set. It’s a simple, low-tech approach to a format that’s otherwise being pushed as the next big thing in home entertainment.
It may feel like a novelty, but the adult entertainment industry has a long history of adopting new technology early. From the early days of online video to mobile-friendly streaming, it has often been quick to experiment with new formats and distribution methods, sometimes well before they reach the mainstream.
Whether 3D video proves to be more than a passing trend remains to be seen. For now, it sits somewhere between curiosity and experiment, and is another example of how quickly new ideas can be picked up and repurposed online.
And, in this case, presented in a way that is a little more in your face than expected.
