Whether for a gift or for a gathering, a Christmas hamper is a lovely thing. On The Table curates hampers crammed full of fabulous products from independent, small producers and delivers them to your door, ready to be shared and enjoyed this festive season.
We tried out its Signature Hamper (available from On The Table
for £240), which arrived in tip-top condition and was kept nicely chilled in transit.
Inside was everything you’d want to make a Christmas party or family gathering go with a swing, including a Charcuterie Selection, Nettle Creamery Bix Organic Soft Cheese and a good-sized wedge of Lincolnshire Poacher cheese.

Add in the pack of Buttermilk crackers, a tin of olives, Wilderbee Hot Gochujang Honey sauce and a jar of White Mausu Black Bean Rayu, and there were nibbles aplenty. I was a little confused by the bag of Spelt pasta, which didn’t seem to fit quite so well with the rest of the hamper contents, but I’m sure it will make a delightful lunch with a little Lincolnshire Poacher grated over the top.
For those who are more inclined to a sweet tooth, you haven’t been left out either – cue the pack of extremely tasty Food and Forest Honey and Cinnamon Cashews, and a Pump Street Madagascar Milk chocolate bar, which will give that sweet hit we all crave at Christmas.
There’s also a nice variety of drinks in the Signature Hamper: a bottle of Turi Rosso Salvatore Marino Sicilian red wine, a bottle of ES Vinyerons Natural Cava, and a bottle of pre-mixed Black Lines Negroni cocktail.
If you are sending an On The Table Hamper as a gift, all fresh items included have a minimum shelf life of two weeks, and with prompt delivery promised, you shouldn’t have any concerns about freshness.
It all tasted fresh to me, once I’d got into the beautifully packaged hamper. The charcuterie selection was fine and worked so well with the olives and black bean rayu, the latter adding a real chilli punch with a depth of almost fruity flavours. The gochujang sauce is an acquired taste, although one I enjoy, and adds a sweet unami kick — although we’ve put that away to use on some barbecue meats! The cheeses were fantastic, pairing well with the buttermilk crackers and a glass or two of the Negroni.
If you’re looking for something a little smaller than the Signature hamper, On The Table still has you covered, with a Sicilian snack box starting its range of Christmassy boxes at just £30.
