A new sandwich shop is about to land in Shoreditch, and it’s not messing around. My Favourite Sandwich is bringing a chef-led approach to the humble sarnie, which means things like pickled onion Monster Munch and fried mortadella stuffed between slices of bread.

Created by Ross Clarke Collective, My Favourite Sandwich takes classic sandwiches and gives them a proper shake-up. Expect big flavours, unexpected combos, and a little bit of nostalgia. There’s a meatball marinara, but made with aged steak and a rich house marinara. The banh mi gets a revamp, too, loaded with chicken, pâté, and Asian pickled slaw. But let’s be honest; the real headline grabber is the ‘Eurotrash’ — fried mortadella, giardiniera pickles, and the unmistakable tang and crunch of pickled onion Monster Munch. It’s one of those things you didn’t know you needed until now.

Vegetarians get some love, too, with options like the Mushroom Meatball Marinara and a spicy vegan sandwich that promises proper punch. Every sandwich comes with a side of Spudos, house-made crisps in flavours like salt and vinegar, curry sauce, and fried chicken.

There’ll also be a rotating lineup of snacks and house-made desserts, plus a drinks menu that includes kombucha, craft sodas, and cocktails designed for a cheeky lunchtime tipple. The 12 o’clock Cosmo and the Cup of Joe Martini might be reason enough to take a long lunch.

Shoreditch isn’t short on food spots, but My Favourite Sandwich could carve out a niche for itself with a mix of nostalgia, quality ingredients, and Monster Munch, when it opens on Commercial Street on the 10th of March.
