Planning tasty, reasonably healthy meals day after day can become a little tedious. Planning them to fit into busy schedules can be even harder. Love Sum, co-founded by MasterChef finalist Sandy Tang, offers an option that is not only quick and easy but also packed with flavour.
Love Sum: the range
The Love Sum range includes six varieties of dumplings and fillings, inspired by Asian cuisines from China to Korea. Each perfectly formed, dough-wrapped package is packed with quality ingredients, creating flavours that delighted us with every bite.

We particularly loved the Hoisin Duck dumplings, with their sweet richness, and the Chicken and Kimchi Mandu, which beautifully combined the flavoursome chicken and crunchy kimchi.
How do you cook Love Sum dumplings?
All of the dumpling varieties can be cooked quickly and easily using various methods. You can steam them, which is probably the simplest method. You can use a combination of pan-frying and steaming (which is how I usually cook dumplings and gyozas). This method has a couple more steps, but the result is a lovely contrast of a slight crunch at the base and a soft, tender top.

Alternatively, you can use an Airfryer. This method is similar to the frying and steaming approach: the dumplings sit on a rack above 100 ml of water, so they cook in the steam and develop a slight crunch where they meet the metal rack.
No matter which method you choose, the dumplings are piping hot and ready to eat in well under 10 minutes.
Love Sum dumplings pair well with noodles, rice, and vegetables. A little dipping sauce on the side makes a flavour-boosting addition, elevating the dish even higher. They also work well as a light lunch bite, a post-gym snack, or a shareable nibble with friends. If you’re unsure how to serve them, or just want a little more inspiration, Chef Tang has included a handful of recipes on the website to guide you.
Love Sum: The verdict
If you’re looking for a meal that is quick and easy to make and ticks the flavour boxes, Love Sum is a definite winner in our book. With options available for vegetarians, meat eaters and shellfish lovers, there will be something to satisfy just about every palate. Tender and crispy dough and well-balanced filling, all at £4.95
for a pack of eight dumplings, what’s not to love?

Perfecting the cooking may take a couple of attempts, but follow the instructions and you can’t go too far wrong.
The dumplings can also be frozen and then cooked straight from the freezer, too, so you can have some on hand whenever the dumpling desire takes you.
