Jura is a well-known whisky with an outstanding reputation. Never mass produced and always with a touch of individuality, their Origin, Superstition, Prophecy and Diurach’s Own offer something for nearly every palate. Now there’s another to add to the list — and this one is particularly special: Jura 1984 Vintage Whisky.

Many years ago, Jura decided to cask a small quantity of single malt whisky they believed could become something exceptional, given enough time. Thirty years seemed like a fitting milestone, and so the time was right to introduce Jura 1984 Vintage to whisky lovers around the world.

This limited-edition malt was matured in American White Oak, Amoroso, and Apostoles Oloroso sherry casks, resulting in an aromatic dram with notes of ripe pineapple, bitter chocolate and morello cherries.

Jura 1984 Vintage Whisky

The Isle of Jura has just one road, one pub and, of course, one distillery. It’s also where George Orwell completed his novel Nineteen Eighty-Four while living on the island.

Willie Cochrane, Jura Distillery Manager: “Every good malt whisky has a story to tell, and Jura’s tale is particularly unique,” explains Willie Cochrane, the Jura distillery manager. “We’re delighted to add another exciting chapter with the release of this extraordinary, limited-edition vintage. Jura 1984 Vintage is an uncompromising addition to our range in homage to the island’s most distinguished guest. 1984 is certainly a year to remember.”

Only 1,984 bottles of Jura 1984 Vintage are available, with each retailing at £750.
