The RCZ Coupe is Peugeot’s Answer to the Audi TT

Is it a TT? Is it an Audi? Not quite. This sleek new coupe is, in fact, a Peugeot. Yes, really. One of the most head-turning cars to come out of France in years, the Peugeot RCZ Coupe looks like it’s been eyeing up Ingolstadt for inspiration — then added a little Parisian flair of its own.

Unbadged, you’d be forgiven for mistaking it for the next-generation Audi TT. But this isn’t a concept or a dream car destined to fade into motor show memory — it’s real, and it’s heading to the UK next spring.

Originally due to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Peugeot simply couldn’t wait to show it off. The RCZ will arrive as a 2+2 sports coupe with a twist: extensive personalisation options. Buyers can customise the roof, roof arches, wheels, trim pieces and more, allowing you to put your own spin on this already distinctive design.

Slip inside and you’ll find a cabin that borrows heavily from the Peugeot 308 hatchback, though with noticeable upgrades in materials and finish. It feels more premium, and there’ll be a good choice of kit available too.

Under the bonnet, there’ll be three engine choices at launch. Two 1.6-litre turbocharged petrols — one producing 158bhp, the other a punchier 200bhp — promise a decent blend of performance and economy. There’s also a 2.0-litre turbo diesel pushing out 163bhp and a healthy 251lb-ft of torque. The quickest RCZ sprints from 0–62mph in 7.6 seconds, which won’t set your hair on fire but is more than enough for a stylish daily coupe.

No pricing details yet, and that could be key. It looks the part, offers respectable performance, and with the right price tag, Peugeot might just have a hit on its hands.
