Ferrari has revealed full details of the new Ferrari FF — the company’s first ever four-wheel-drive model. The name stands for Four Seats, Four-Wheel Drive, and Ferrari claims it’s one of the fastest four-seater road cars ever built. With 0–62mph in just 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 208mph, it’s hard to argue.
Power comes from a new 6.2-litre direct-injection V12 producing 651bhp, delivered to all four wheels via Ferrari’s trick new 4RM system and an F1-style paddle-shift gearbox. The FF replaces the long-serving 612 Scaglietti and arrives with almost perfect 50:50 weight distribution, something Ferrari hopes will give it confidence and stability on everything from dry asphalt to snow.
According to Ferrari, the FF “delivers record levels of performance on all terrains and in all conditions via continuous and intelligent predictive torque distribution to all four wheels.” Bold claims, but exactly what you’d expect from a manufacturer stepping into the four-wheel-drive world for the first time.
