£60
It might seem like an unusual combination — socks and Advent — but SockShop have made it work. Inside each of the 25 slid-out boxes is a pair of luxurious bamboo socks. There is a mixture of designs, some of which are more Christmas-themed than others, so they won’t just be a one-month wonder, but will keep your feet feeling fresh and comfortable in the months ahead, too.

Available in sizes 4-8 and 7-11, and in two different collections with differing colour palettes (listed as men’s and women’s, but socks are socks, right?), there will be warm, snuggly feet galore this festive season.
Bridal Advent Calendar by Gigi and Olive
£185
For anyone on the countdown to their wedding as we head into 2026, the Bridal Advent calendar from Gigi & Olive is this season’s must-have indulgence.

This limited-edition calendar is packed with products, from skincare and haircare by well-known brands like Grown Alchemist and Skin Cycles, to sweet treats and little tipples. Every day will bring a new luxurious surprise for an excited bride-to-be. Whether you’re giving it as a gift or treating yourself, this Advent Calendar will be a daily delight.
Murder by Christmas: 25 Puzzles to solve the crime by Joel Jessup
£13
If you’re a lover of crime fiction, then Murder by Christmas is an interesting and unusual alternative to a traditional Advent calendar. The prologue sets the scene, introducing the sadly departed Mr Holly and Dr Hacker and Inspector Twelvetrees who are set to investigate the murder mystery.

Each day of December corresponds with a short chapter, the reading of which is equivalent to opening an Advent door. Each ‘door’ builds up the story and provide clues to the identity of the murderer, which the reader can solve to uncover who had it in for poor Mr Holly. There’s no pressure to solve all the clues — it is possible to deduce the identity of the murdered without having got everything right, but if you really get stuck, the answers are all solutions are provided at the back of the book, so no-one is left guessing.
Murder By Christmas is beautifully written and combines literature and puzzle solving well. Whether you choose to solve the puzzle alone, or come together as a family to invoke your inner Sherlock Holmes, it will bring an extra layer of fun to your festivities this Advent season.
