Thierry Henry has collaborated with Parisian luggage brand Kabuto to create a range of suitcases that are as slick and stylish as he is. Unveiled today, the limited edition range was co-designed by Henry — a shareholder in the brand — and Kabuto’s team of in-house inventors and engineers, with the aim of revolutionising travel.

“I’ve travelled to countless destinations over three decades yet never managed to find suitcases that tick all the boxes — so being able to co-design this collection with Kabuto has been inspiring,” commented Henry. “Like all travellers, many things have frustrated me over the years, from having nowhere to hang my suit or charge my phone to always bringing back more than I mean to. So we’ve integrated features such as USB ports, rotatable clips and an expandable, luxury design that genuinely make travelling slicker and more pleasurable whether you’re a solo traveller or a family on the move. I was born in France but have lived in London for a long time and travel is such a huge part of my life, so joining Kabuto and launching my new range in London seemed like the perfect partnership”.

The new collection has been designed using new patented technology, which allows the traveller a more premium experience from packing to arrival at their destination. Limited to just 3,000 pieces worldwide, the carry-on luggage and lightweight trunk go on presale today from £495.

Henry has travelled the world during his sports career, and his personal travel experiences have inspired the collection and its unique features. Each case has custom-built, high-tech features to enhance the travel experience and a lifetime warranty.

The Kabuto x Thierry Henry Expandable leather carry-on case can add 50% to its volume with the release of a zip, becoming, according to Kabuto, the most expandable suitcase in the world. There are USB charging ports built-in, one USB-C port, one micro USB port and one USB-A port, to keep you connected as you travel, and a detachable wallet in the back panel allows you to store travel documents and valuables which can be quickly detached and carried separately if desired. Inside, along with ample packing space — 40 litres when not expanded, rising to 60 litres at full stretch — there is a hideaway compartment to keep your shoes separate from your clothing.

The lightweight trunk boasts almost 100 litres of storage and transforms into a stylish vertical wardrobe complete with optional fold-out shelves to ensure your clothes arrive crease-free and ready to wear. This means there is no need to go through the hassle of unpacking your luggage — everything is already where it needs to be and accessible.

Each case can be easily unlocked using fingerprint technology, so you won’t have to worry about lost keys or forgotten codes. The all-terrain wheels are fitted with double ball bearings and rubber tyres to make them as quiet and smooth as possible. The retractable handle has four height settings, the tallest of which is 105cm, so you can find the most comfortable level, no matter what your height.

Kabuto is so confident in the quality of its products and the superiority of its designs that each case comes with a lifetime warranty. You don’t even need to remember to activate it, as it is done automatically with every online purchase.
